Refrain Magazine: A Music Media Editorial Piece.

Refrain: a repeated line or number of lines in a poem or song, typically at the end of each verse. In the media today, mainstream music has become an eclectic rendition of various genres that have been produced over time. Between rock, R&B, soul, rap—the music industry today has become a meadow of hits from retired decades that have repeated themselves. Presented as an editorial piece, I designed/branded a brand new mock-magazine company all inspired by what I see in pop culture today.

During the process of this editorial piece, I learned a lot about applying spot colour. Adding a sharp yellow became more of a challenge than planned, simply because applying it in certain locations actually altered the layout drastically.
